At the time Monica would've been in New York, from 1992
to 1999, she probably would've been working in the Criminal
Investigative Division.
Criminal Investigative Division coordinates investigations
into organized crime, including drug matters, racketeering,
and money laundering; investigations into violent crimes,
including wanted fugitives, escaped federal prisoners (in
some instances), unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, violent
gangs, serial murders, kidnappings, bank robberies, violent
crimes and theft of government property; investigations
into white-collar crime, fraud against the government, corruption
of public officials, health care fraud, election law violations,
business and economic frauds and corruption crimes; and
investigations into civil rights violations. (source)
In reality, the New York Field Office doesn't have a Special
Agent in Charge (SAC) that The X-Files official biography
states about Brad Follmer, they have an Assistant Director
in Chage. But in The X-Files world, New York has an SAC,
and from 1997 to 2000 Brad Follmer was the New York SAC.
Special Agent - New Orleans Field
Office (1999 - 2001)
Address:
2901 Leon C. Simon Blvd
New Orleans, LA 70126

the investigation of violations of federal criminal law;
to protect the United States from foreign intelligence and
terrorist activities; to provide leadership and law enforcement
assistance to federal, state, local and international agencies;
and to perform these responsibilities in a manner that is
responsive to the needs of the public and is faithful to
the Constitution of the United States."
Monica was in New Orleans from 1999 to 2001. In "This
Is Not Happening", she tells Scully how she was a "black
sheep" in New Orleans, people didn't agree with her
beliefs, basically saying she was the Fox Mulder of the
New Orleans Field Office.
In "Empedocles", she was called in by Detective
Frank Potter of the New Orleans P.D. to give her expertise
of Satanic Ritual Abuse on the Jeb Dukes case.
In "Provenance", Doggett hands her a file on
Special Agent Robert David Comer, and Monica says she once
worked a case with him in New Orleans, saying that he's
very by the book.
Special Agent - Washington, D.C. Headquarters
(2001 - 2002)
Webpage: http://www.fbi.gov/
Address:
J. Edgar Hoover Building
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. 20535-0001
The X-Files Unit is a small unit of the FBI that investigates
cases that are deemed unsolvable due to unusual/paranormal
circumstances. During Monica's time on the X-Files, she
was partnered with Special Agent John Doggett. Both agents
would consult with Special Agent Dana Scully (who started
teaching a the FBI Academy) and would often bring her on
board many of their cases. Officially, Monica was never
assigned by any authority in the Bureau, but was brought
on by Doggett to help investigate Deputy Director Kersh.
