Summary: The morning Monica Reyes left Brad in New York City.

"Eres siempre mi amor... te amo."

Monica's voice is still so sweet, ringing in my ear.

Those were the last words she said to me before I fell asleep with her in my arms. I woke 
up this morning and she was gone. I dropped by her office this morning and none of her 
belongings were there.

She's disappeared, run away, and gave no reasons why. Was it something I said? Was it 
something I did?

If I'm always her love... why'd she leave me without a trace?

I can't concentrate. The paperwork is piling up on my desk.

My phone rings, my private line. I hope it's her. I pick up the receiver.

"FBI, I need another favor. Friend of mine needs out of a problem… fraud. Meet me at 
Carlo's at the usual time for payment and instructions." 

It's Nicholas Rigali.

"Sure. I'll be there." I'm reluctant.

I hang up. I'd do anything to get out of that deal. Playing with the mob is bound to get 
someone hurt.
