Military Science
Over 50 years of military science has created the ideal soldier.
A super soldier.
What are Super Soldiers? According to Knowle
in "Existence" he tells John Doggett that rumours
about making Super Soldiers came out after the Cold War. They
are supposidly soldiers that have no weaknesses and can't
be killed.
In "Nothing Important Happened Today II",
Shannon McMahon tells John Doggett that she has become a bio-engineered
combat unit, the product of 50 years of military science.
She does not need to sleep, she can breath underwater. Essencially,
Super Soldiers are unstoppable.
Knowle and Shannon were the first to be transformed
into Super Soldiers. They were drafted right out of Bravo
Company, becoming the first, Adam and Eve. Shannon also tells
John that she and Knowle are alike in every way, the only
difference is that she hates what she's become and Knowle
does not.
Through out time on "The X-Files"
it is discoved that Super Soldiers have a weakness. We see
it with The Shadow Man ("Trust No 1") and with Knowle
Roher ("The Truth"). That weakness is magnetite,
which is in the rocks where the Super Soldiers meet their
end. Or do they? Can they really be killed? In the past they
have been known to regenerate. Billy Miles in "Existence".
Knowle Rohrer in "Nothing Important Happened Today II".
Even Shannon McMahon kept going and was "alive"
after Knowle punched his fist through her. Is it possible
that if they are removed from the location of the magnetite
that they could regenerate and continue on?
Magnetite obviously has a magnetic pull to the
Super Soldiers. In "Existence" we see that they
are made of a metal, so perhaps that is what draws them to
this magnetic material.
So when did Knowle Rohrer become a Super Soldier?
There are many theories that could be set into play here:
1. Shannon McMahon says that she and Knowle
where draved right out of Bravo Company and entered into this
project, becoming the first Super Soldiers. This is more than
likely what happened, but my mind continues to be fishy about
that since Knowle acted all too human in "Per Manum",
leading me to option number 2...
2. Yes, Knowle and Shannon were drafted out
of Bravo Company and into the project to become the first
successful Super Soldiers. But it could take years for the
science to be completed and tests would have to be done on
them. So perhaps there were transitions, and maybe they weren't
even aware of what was going on until it was too late. Knowle
just seemed too human in "Per Manum" to be a full-blown
Super Soldier at that time. The transitions could have been
taking place through out a period of time. By "Three
Words" he was becoming less human, and by "Existence"
he essencially had no human left in him, but perhaps he didn't
know this until after the car wreck he was in at the end and
that's when he realized he was unstoppable and began to like
what he had become.
